Nickelodeon star and comedian Christy Knowings has died at the age of 46 after suffering an asthma attack that reportedly resulted in brain damage.
Knowings, best known for her role on the popular children’s sketch comedy series All That, died in Los Angeles on Tuesday after spending several days in hospital.
According to reports, the actress suffered an asthma attack on Friday and was subsequently placed on life support after sustaining brain damage. Her family later made the difficult decision to withdraw life support on Tuesday night.
Her aunt, Tyleah Joseph, announced her death in a Facebook post the following day.
Knowings’ manager, Al Hill, described her as a multi-talented performer who was passionate about her work.
“Christy was a multi-talented lady. Whether it was singing, acting, dancing, she was always creating. Always professional and dedicated to her work.”
Knowings became a familiar face to Nickelodeon viewers after joining All That in 1997. She was part of the main cast for three seasons between 1997 and 2001, appearing alongside stars including Amanda Bynes, Kenan Thompson, Kel Mitchell, Lori Beth Denberg and Josh Server.
She was initially discovered through the pilot of And Now This, a sketch comedy project produced by Rosie O’Donnell, before landing her role on All That.
The comedy series, which premiered in 1994, became one of Nickelodeon’s most successful shows and helped launch the careers of several entertainers, including Nick Cannon, Gabriel Iglesias, Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell.
Knowings later returned to All That as a guest star during its 10th season.
Beyond Nickelodeon, she worked alongside her twin brother, Chris Knowings, with the siblings appearing together in three episodes of Sesame Street.
Her death comes months after another tragedy involving the All That family, following the death of former cast member Kianna Underwood, who died aged 33 in early 2026 after reportedly being struck in a hit-and-run crash.
